Design Vac

Reflecting on the Biodiversity Community Design Project, the experience highlighted the significance of local actions for global biodiversity conservation. Engaging with my community's specific issue of bee population decline illuminated the broader implications for global ecosystems. The design thinking process involving research, ideation, prototyping, and user feedback to create a multifunctional logotype. This symbol, marrying imagery of bees with plant life in a vibrant colour palette, became the visual anchor for various applications, from educational publications fostering bee-friendly practices to posters and digital interfaces aimed at community engagement in biodiversity initiatives. Implementing the design across social media further amplified its reach and impact. Additionally, integrating this project into school curricula enabled pedagogical opportunities for students to engage with and learn from real-world environmental challenges. This project transcended a typical design exercise, becoming a local symbol with the potential to invoke global change, and in reflecting on its entirety, it is the embodiment of the profound connection between local initiatives and their ripple effects on the world stage.
